Results are Posted! Champions in each competition advance to the Sectionals.
Sectionals were held on Friday May 11th at Guy Mason Field at 6pm
PHR is a great competition open to ALL children not just little league kids. Check out the PHR fact sheet.
Winners will compete to go to the 2012 World Series! See details at the Aquafina MLB web page.

Game schedules are posted. Click here for Prep/Senior or Majors or AAA or AA or T-Ball.
Game scores are posted for Majors and AAA. Coaches can submit scores online, click here for Majors or here for AAA.
Majors and AAA divisions can use use this Pitching Log to assist with counting pitches each game.
Coaches should be familiar with the NWLL House Rules for Majors, AAA, AA, and T-Ball.
NWLL has a new Skills Development Plan. All coaches should review and strive to adopt the goals of our organization.

Protecting Pitcher's Arms

NWLL cares about the health of our players, we value safety and the long term welfare of our kids. NWLL house rules were enacted to limit the number of innings pitched (3 max per game), and to ban curve balls.
In 2008, Little League enacted pitch count rules to limit the number of pitches to prevent injury. In 2009, Little League required a specific number of days rest depending on the number of pitches thrown.
An article from ESPN offers recommendations to prevent injury from the premier doctor who performs Tommy John surgery
A recent report from the New York Times highlights the debate on throwing curve balls. A Boston Globe article quotes the Director of Sports Medicine at Children's Hospital who says that curve balls are not a good idea until after age 14.

Please see the NWLL Parental Code of Conduct to review examples of ways to help us demonstrate the values of fairness, respect, sportsmanship, and community spirit. Our goal is for every kid to have fun playing baseball.
Children and Sports is a great article on parenting your child as they learn about sports and life. We found these recommendations from the AACAP here in DC.

Mayor Vincent C. Gray honors Northwest LL for winning the 2011 DC championship

Mayor Gray presented the Northwest Little League All Stars with a Certificate of Achievement, after wishing them good luck as they prepare to represent Washington DC in the Little League World Series. See the entire press release here. The players are (pictured L to R) Matthew Dulaney, Alex Snape, Ben Schwartz, Ethan Roth, Sydney Love-Baker, Jack Bailey, George Anninos, Ty Love-Baker, Spenser Hyun, and Luke Wallis. Not pictured are Owen Isaacs, Henry Furlong, and Max Whisnant. The manager is Andy Seto, and the coaches are Matt Donnellan and Jim Plantholt (not pictured).
Congratulations to Henry Furlong, who had the highest batting average after pool play (4 games). See the leaderboard stats. Additionally, Spencer Hyun went 5 for 7 with a whopping .714 batting average, but needed 10 plate appearances to get on the leaderboard. Way to go Spencer!

Hameto Benkreira, a senior at Tufts University, wins an honors award in American studies and a Fulbright Scholarship
Laddie Trees earns a Track & Field spot throwing the javelin for Bucknell. Laddie was a great center fielder, known for his spectacular running throws to the plate.
